Move students from exposure to mastery of the standards in as little as ten minutes per lesson!

Focused, flexible, and complete lessons, plus quick, effective assessment give teachers all they need to introduce, reteach, or review the standards in Reading and Language Arts. The lessons are an easy fit into daily lesson plans, complementing any classroom curriculum.

Academic Workout is designed for all students, at all performance levels. Teacher Guides give practical suggestions for differentiating instruction for advanced learners, on-level learners, and less-proficient readers/ELLs.

Overhead transparencies provide for whole-class instruction of each standards-based topic, with an overview and model. In 2–4 pages, Student Practice lessons review key points from the overhead, including scaffolded activities that progress in difficulty.

The program provides:

  • to follow up on a teachable moment
  • by selecting individual lessons from the list of standards
